Summer Camp Is Da Bomb

We all know that most parents, at some point, attended summer camp. Today, kids don’t tend to get that same experience. Families are so consumed with their organized summer travel schedule that young kids don’t get the summer camp experience.

During July 4th week, FLG Lacrosse offers a unique summer camp experience for Kindergarten through 8th grade boys and girls. This camp uses lacrosse as a foundation to introduce fun, competitive, creative, unique games and drills. Our goal, is to give campers that summer camp experience and get every camper to fall in love with the sport.

Ever played capture the flag with a lacrosse stick? Ever replace baseball miss with lacrosse sticks during a baseball game? Ever participated in a camp wide Apache Relay?! Come to the FLG summer camp and experience it all! At 21 days away from Day 1 of camp, we still have spots open. Interested? Register today!

Don’t Fear Failure

Never, quit

Now, we’re not talking about quitting a project that will never amount to anything or quitting a dead-end job, we’re talking about quitting on the necessary steps to become a winner. For John Wooden, these necessary steps can be shown in a pyramid. Below I’ve listed some of these steps that must be taken to achieve greatness. What steps do you take to become a winner?

Competitive Greatness

Conditioning

Skill Development

Initiative

Enthusiasm

Delany Comerford = Studlete

This past weekend was the second year of the FLG Premier Showcase Series. Over the weekend, nearly 1,000 uncommitted High School aged studletes came to Long Island to compete in front of hundreds of College Coaches.

Yesterday, 1 studlete in particular impressed, inspired, and implied. Delany Comerford was a 2018 defender from Garden City, NY. She competed with the 2017 age group throughout the day and continuing to impress coaches, fans, and teammates alike. Coaches were impressed by her ability to receive instruction and apply what she learned to her play on the field. Fans were in awe by her skill, creativity, and precision. Teammates were impressed by her positive, sweet, selfless demeanor. Everyone at the event was inspired by Delany’s ability to hang with the best uncommitted athletes in the 2017 class. Delany herself, implied that her handicap wasn’t going to stop her from competing at an extremely high level and playing the game she loves.

Delany was raised in Garden City, a lacrosse hotbed with a rich history for the sport. She was given a stick in 2nd grade because that’s what her and all her friends did in town. After falling in love with the sport at a young age, she continued to play at a high level in town and with her Yellow Jackets club lacrosse team. Today, she’s looking to compete against some of the best athletes in her grade for a shot to play at the collegiate level. FLG would like to thank Delany for her efforts this past weekend. We hope you continue to impress, inspire, and imply that nothing’s going to stop you from becoming the best you can be. You’re the definition of a studlete!
