Cassidy Burns, from Massapequa N.Y. and alumni of Plainedge High School, she is the second ever Manhattan student athlete to earn MAAC Rookie of the Year.
Cloudy with a high of 70 degrees and a chance of Reigning Champs, on Tuesday May 7th, 4:45pm, 2018 Class B State Champion Manhasset will travel to the Harbor to take on Class C State Champion Cold Spring Harbor. With much success in the 2019 season, both teams have only had 1 loss, and are going into this game on a multiple game win streak. With confidence running high, this game is going to be INTENSE. Manhattan College has adopted the personality of its city. Never sleeping, always grinding, and producing countless success stories, Manhattan is no-longer that unknown college ‘in the city.’
On April 27th, the Gains for Brains Tournament took place at Cold Spring Harbor High School. The tournament was created by Andrew and Lauren Rappaport, and it’s goal is to raise money for the Making Headway Foundation. The Making Headway Foundation gives care and treatment to children with brain and spinal cord tumors. This year was the fifth year for the Gains for Brains Tournament, and it was a huge success. You got the best of both worlds by watching some of the tops women’s lacrosse programs outside Long Island battle it out against Long Island’s best. More importantly, you have some the sport of lacrosse bringing together great people to fight for an incredible cause.
